About

Hey, I'm Preston.

Since 2022, I've been sharing what I know about communication—speaking on camera, thinking on your feet, handling tough questions, telling stories that stick—on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

It started with a $60 whiteboard and a video about how to organize your thoughts when you're put on the spot. That video got 5 million views. What I thought would be a side experiment turned into The Impromptu Speakers Academy and a community of 700K+ followers who want to become clearer, more confident communicators.

The path here wasn't linear. I majored in communication at Stanford, spent four years calling play-by-play in a radio booth studying how broadcasters like Al Michaels made it look effortless. Got my MBA at MIT Sloan. Taught public speaking to executive MBA students. Interviewed 200+ communication coaches trying to figure out what actually works. Worked my way up to Head of Business Development at Lucid Software while building all of this on the side.

Somewhere along the way, I realized the secret wasn't talent or luck. It was stacking days. Pick one skill. Work on it intentionally. See how it goes. Stack the next day. The metrics follow.

If you've watched a video, read a newsletter, or joined a course—thank you. I'll keep sharing what I'm learning about speaking, writing, building with AI, and creating content, for as long as you'll have me.
